Understanding

A closer look

A practice visit involves many small questions: which documents do I need? Where do I check in? What has already been agreed, and what do I still need to discuss with the doctor? Understanding these steps can help, particularly on your first visit. Our practice team supports you with administrative questions about your appointment. Please tell us if you have not understood something or need particular support for your visit. Together, we can clarify what to consider when preparing and at the practice.

Further information

The medical team and practice team have different roles

Our doctors introduce their specialties, qualifications and work on individual profile pages. The practice team helps with questions about check-in and organisation. If your concern involves a medical decision, please mention this so that the next step can be clarified. A clear description of what you need is enough to begin with. An appointment question, a query about documents and a new medical question may require different next steps.

Respectful communication helps everyone

A practice visit can involve pain, worry or uncertainty. At the same time, different concerns need to be coordinated during the working day. If something is unclear or has happened differently from what you expected, please raise the specific situation. A calm, respectful conversation makes it easier to recognise misunderstandings and agree the next action. This also includes asking again if an explanation was not yet clear to you. “Contact and directions” shows how to clarify your administrative question with the practice.

What to expect and next steps

Before the appointment: explaining your concern

When arranging an appointment, it helps to know what you want to clarify through contact with the practice and whether an appointment or treatment has already been agreed with you. For administrative queries, specific details help, such as the date and time of the appointment or the documents you are still missing. You discuss which medical examination or treatment is suitable with a doctor. The team supports you in clarifying the administrative steps around this arrangement.

During your visit: raising questions

Please tell us about the records you have brought as soon as you check in. We scan the documents important for your treatment appointment there. Also tell us if a required finding is still missing. For the subsequent consultation with your doctor, it is important that the available information has already been entered into our practice information system, so that it is ready in good time and can inform medical decisions. If you check in at the self-service terminal, please still hand any documents you have brought to our reception staff. This allows them to be recorded digitally and made available in time for your consultation with your doctor. You are also welcome to mention a practical difficulty: for example, if you could not hear an explanation clearly, a form is unclear or you need help finding your way around. Describe as specifically as possible what you need help with. Please agree with us which support is possible.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I get to know the practice's doctors?
Our doctors each introduce themselves in a dedicated profile under “Doctors”. There you will find their specialties, qualifications and areas of work at OrthoCoast.
Whom should I contact about an unclear appointment arrangement?
Contact the practice with the specific appointment question. State which appointment is affected and what remains unclear. This allows the status of the arrangement to be clarified first.
How can I tell you beforehand that I need support during my visit?
Contact the practice before travelling and describe your needs. For example, whether you need help accessing the rooms, someone to accompany you or assistance understanding documents makes a difference. We will clarify the specific possibilities with you.
What should I do with findings I bring with me?
Tell us about your records as soon as you check in and hand them in there for scanning. This also applies if you check in at the self-service terminal. It allows the documents important for your appointment to be available for the subsequent consultation with your doctor. Please also tell us if a required finding is still missing.
