Physical therapies: an overview
Here you will find an overview of our physical therapies and care options. We discuss which may be suitable for you based on your symptoms and findings. The individual pages explain how each is used, what happens during treatment and its limitations.
Shockwave therapy
We provide radial and focused shockwave treatment. Which method is suitable depends, among other things, on the affected structure and the specific clinical question.
View treatment optionsLaser therapy
Laser therapy uses concentrated light with specific properties. At OrthoCoast, a high-level laser with a power of up to 40 watts is also available for your treatment.
View treatment optionsNeedle-Laser
During external needle laser treatment, low-dose laser light is directed onto selected areas of the body from outside through small optical fibres and applicators. The applicators rest on the skin; no needles are inserted into the tissue.
View treatment optionsIHHT
The abbreviation stands for intermittent hypoxia–hyperoxia training. Intermittent means that different phases alternate repeatedly. During the hypoxic phase, the air you breathe contains less oxygen than normal ambient air; during the hyperoxic phase, it contains more.

View treatment optionsStimaWELL
A back mat combines electrical nerve and muscle stimulation with warmth. We discuss with you from a medical perspective which application is best suited to your symptoms and what needs to be considered beforehand.
