Services

Has a treatment already been recommended to you?

During your consultation, we recommended a specific treatment and discussed what it involves. Perhaps you would first like time to think through the information or discuss it with someone you trust. You do not need to decide during the appointment. If you later choose the recommended treatment, you can use the agreed route to arrange it. Another consultation solely to organise this appointment is not required.

You can see the available options in the online reception. If none fits your enquiry or a response is unclear, please call us. Submitting an enquiry does not confirm a new appointment. 03836 200893

I would like advice first

You are interested in a treatment but have not yet received a medical recommendation for it from OrthoCoast. Please first arrange a consultation so that we can assess your symptoms and suitable options together.

Book a consultation

A self-funded service remains your voluntary choice. We clarify benefits, risks, alternatives and expected costs before treatment. Booking an appointment does not replace the individual discussion of treatment or the required cost agreement.

Understanding

The recommendation as a starting point

The specific treatment must first have been discussed with you at OrthoCoast. This covers the treatment goal, possible benefits and risks, alternatives and the planned scope. A recommendation from another practice or treatment received previously must first be assessed by us. You decide whether to have the recommended treatment. If you still have questions, please contact us. A recommendation does not create any obligation to choose an additional service.

Using the access route discussed

Have you now decided to go ahead with a treatment we recommended during your consultation? Arrange the treatment appointment through our online reception or by phone, and tell us which treatment was recommended. If you have received a personal link or QR code for this, use it. Keep to the agreed scope of treatment and the intervals discussed. You do not need to book another regular consultation solely to organise the appointment. A treatment appointment is arranged only once the relevant confirmation has been issued. If you are unsure which route is intended for you, ask us and name the recommended treatment. If you have new symptoms or your health circumstances have changed, please agree the next step with us before starting.

Further information

If your situation has changed

New symptoms, an infection, a medication change or an unexpected reaction to a previous treatment may alter the plan. In this case, contact us before treatment. We will clarify whether the original plan still fits or a new medical assessment is needed. Do not stop medicines on your own. In a medical emergency, do not wait for an appointment confirmation or a digital reply.

What to expect and next steps

The difference between an enquiry and a confirmed appointment

Submitting an enquiry does not mean that a treatment appointment has been confirmed. Please look out for the reply and the appointment confirmation by email. If the expected confirmation does not arrive, also check your spam folder and clarify the booking status with the practice. Repeating the booking or making an additional appointment of another type does not resolve this uncertainty.

What matters for your decision

Understanding the benefits and clarifying possible costs in advance

We want you to know the goal of the recommended treatment, how well its benefits are supported by evidence and what alternatives are available. If the service is not covered by German statutory health insurance in your situation, we also explain what paying for it yourself involves and the expected costs. You can take time to weigh up this information before deciding. If you have statutory insurance and choose such a self-funded service, you receive a cost estimate beforehand. We provide the service only after you have signed to confirm that you wish to have the treatment and will cover the costs. Arranging an appointment does not replace this declaration. Advice on preparation and what to do afterwards depends on your specific treatment. If you are given a medicine by injection during treatment at our practice, allow at least 30 minutes afterwards for observation; this may take longer depending on how you feel. Further information is available under ‘Preparation and aftercare’.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to decide during the consultation?
No. You can take time to consider the recommendation discussed and contact us later. If your health circumstances have changed, we clarify before treatment whether the plan is still suitable.
Do I need another consultation to arrange the appointment?
For treatment already discussed and recommended at our practice, you do not need another regular consultation simply to organise the appointment. Use the agreed access route. However, new symptoms or other medical changes may require a fresh assessment.
Can I directly book a treatment recommended by another practice?
A recommendation from elsewhere is first assessed medically at our practice. The follow-up route is intended for treatment already discussed with OrthoCoast.
What should I do if I do not have personal access?
Arrange the appointment with the practice and name the treatment already recommended. Do not use someone else's link or book a different appointment type as a substitute.
