Book appointments and contact OrthoCoast

Would you like to book an appointment at OrthoCoast or send us a message? For a new appointment, our online calendar is the best option. It shows the appointments offered and lets you choose a suitable time yourself. For other enquiries, the online reception, the arzt-direkt app and access for treatments already discussed are available. Here we explain step by step which route suits your concern.

If you need urgent medical help

In a medical emergency, please do not wait for an online reply or for our return call. If life is at risk, call 112. Guidance on other urgent symptoms is available under “Acute symptoms and medical emergencies”.

Further information

Messaging us through the arzt-direkt app

With the arzt-direkt app, you can send us messages on your smartphone and read our replies. To do this, we link the app to your patient record once, in person at our practice. Installing it alone is not enough to enable this messaging service. Download “arzt-direkt” from the App Store to your iPhone or from the Google Play Store to your Android smartphone. Bring the smartphone to your practice visit. Open the app at our practice and scan our practice QR code within it. After you enter your details, the app displays a connection PIN, a numerical code. Show this to our team. We assign the connection to your patient record and confirm it. You can then contact us through the app's messaging section. Briefly explain what your enquiry is about and look for our reply in the app. Detailed instructions are available under “arzt-direkt”. This connection is not required to book an appointment online on our website.

Starting treatment already discussed

Have we recommended treatment during your consultation, and have you now decided to go ahead? Open “Treatment already recommended” on our website. There you will find the separate access routes for next steps discussed with us beforehand. Choose the route we specified for your treatment. If you received a personal link or QR code, use it. Keep to the agreed scope of treatment and the intervals discussed. You do not need to book another routine consultation solely to organise the appointment. A treatment appointment is only agreed once the relevant confirmation is received. If you are unsure which access route is intended for you, ask us and name the recommended treatment. If you have new symptoms or changes in your health, please agree the next step with us before starting. Further information is available under “Treatment already recommended”.

Visit the practice in person

You can also come to the practice in person during opening hours to discuss your concern with our team. Opening hours and directions are available under “Contact and directions”. We arrange a suitable appointment for examination or treatment; visiting in person alone does not mean you will receive immediate treatment.

Clarifying a missing confirmation

After a specific appointment has been arranged, the confirmation email is important: it records which appointment was agreed. If an expected message is missing, please also check your email spam folder. If it still does not arrive, ask the practice rather than booking the same appointment again just in case. It helps if you can say when you started the process and whether a date and time were already displayed. A general enquiry and a confirmed appointment are different stages. If you are unsure which stage has been reached, say exactly that when contacting us.

If a link or selection does not work

Describe as specifically as possible what you see on the screen and where you cannot proceed. For example, it is enough to say that you can open the appointment email but not the access link it contains. You do not need technical terminology. For treatment already recommended, please also mention the next step discussed with you. This allows the query to relate to the existing recommendation. If you need to send findings or images, agree the intended route with the practice. A general contact field is not automatically intended for medical documents.

If you would like support from someone you trust

You may book an appointment for another person with their consent. Enter the patient's details, including their email address and contact details. The appointment confirmation must be linked to the correct patient. If you need help, speak to our team. If someone you trust is also to receive medical information or make decisions on your behalf, please agree the necessary requirements with us.

What to expect and next steps

Book an appointment online

“Book an appointment” takes you directly to our online calendar, on a computer or smartphone. You do not need to install the arzt-direkt app for this. Open the calendar and select the reason for your visit. Read the information about the appointment type offered. Then choose a suitable available appointment, enter the requested details and complete the booking. Have your email address ready. Look for the appointment confirmation email. If it is missing, check your spam folder and clarify the booking status with us before making another booking. If you cannot find a suitable appointment type, use the online reception or contact us by telephone. Please do not choose a different examination or treatment simply because an appointment is available there.

Using the online reception for appointment questions and prescriptions

You can access the online reception through “Open online reception” on this page. There, choose from the enquiries we offer: “Arrange appointment”, “Reschedule appointment”, “Cancel appointment” or “Prescription request”. Then follow the steps shown. For arranging an appointment, the route leads to the appropriate appointment selection. Through the online reception, you submit the details our practice needs for your enquiry. An acknowledgement shows that your enquiry has arrived. The subsequent reply tells you whether an appointment has been arranged or changed, or a prescription is ready. Details are available on “Online reception” and “Change or cancel an appointment”.

Contact us by telephone

Call 03836 200893 to leave your enquiry with our digital telephone assistant. Please state your name, your concern and a telephone number for a return call. If you call during our opening hours, we make one return call to you the same day. Please make sure we can reach you on the number you gave us. We make one callback attempt per message so that we can respond to all enquiries as promptly as possible. If you miss our call, please call again and leave a new message. We will then get back to you.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to deal with all my OrthoCoast enquiries online?
No. You can also contact the practice by telephone or discuss your concern in person. Use the details under “Contact and directions”. A treatment appointment is arranged separately.
What should I do if no appointment confirmation arrives?
Please also check your spam folder. If the expected message is still missing, clarify the status with the practice. Do not book a second time just in case while it remains unclear whether the first appointment has already been arranged.
What should I tell you about a technical problem?
State your actual enquiry and describe where you cannot proceed. If an appointment has already been displayed, have its date and time ready. A clear description is enough; technical terminology is not required.
Can someone help me organise an appointment?
You may book an appointment for another person with their consent. Enter the patient's details, including their email address and contact details. The appointment confirmation must be linked to the correct patient. If you need help, speak to our team.
