Express check-in
Do you have an appointment at OrthoCoast and your health insurance card with you? If you do not need to hand in any documents, you can check in directly at the terminal opposite reception. This means you do not need to join the queue at the reception desk.
Go straight to the terminal
Use express check-in if you have a booked appointment, have your health insurance card with you and do not need any documents added to your record before seeing the doctor.
Take documents to reception
Have you brought a referral, a QR code for accessing reports or images, a CD of scans, medical letters or other documents? If so, please check in at our regular reception desk. Do not use express check-in in this case.
Our team adds your documents to our system before you see the doctor. This ensures the information is already available in the consulting room.
How express check-in works
1. Insert your health insurance card
Insert your card into the slot with the chip facing upwards and going in first.
2. Allow the card to be read
Reading the card can take up to ten seconds. Leave it in the machine until the screen prompts you to take the next step.
3. Check the details on screen
Follow the on-screen instructions and check the contact details displayed. You can use the touchscreen or keyboard.
4. Complete check-in
Wait for confirmation that check-in was successful. Once check-in is complete, close the final window on the screen and take your health insurance card with you. Then take a seat in the waiting area indicated on your printed appointment slip. You will be called there.

Frequently asked questions
Will I be seen immediately after express check-in?
Express check-in saves you queuing at reception. There may still be a wait before you are called for your appointment.
Can I book an appointment at the terminal?
Express check-in registers your arrival at the practice when you already have an appointment. Information on booking an appointment is available under “Appointments & enquiries”.
